Friend in my head  Ms. Rihanna Robyn Fenty has landed on  TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in the World  list!  That’ s MAYJAH!

Designer Stella McCartney comments:

I can’t remember when Rihanna and I first met, but I think it was near a dance floor and one of her tracks was playing. The thing I remember was her being a normal person, not what you’d expect of a young woman about to take over the world. She’s one of the coolest, hottest, most talented, most liked, most listened to, most followed, most impressive artists at work today, but she does it in her own stride. She works hard, very hard. She gives to her fans, friends and foundation not just herself but her energy and spirit.

Rihanna, 24, goes out of her way to support the people she believes in. She is one of the few people I know in that world of fame and celebrity who aren’t all about themselves. She’ll give a real part of herself to an ordinary person she may meet, and that’s rare.

This is the beginning for Rihanna — she has so much more to do and to give. She is just getting going, so watch out. She’s the Barbados ambassador for youth and culture, and she’s coming to a town near you.”

Four years ago I was not a big Rihanna fan. Don’t get me wrong, I liked some of  her songs, and sure  she can dress her a** off,  but beyond that I just didn’t see it for her.  As an artist she was not within the ranks of King Bey, and Janet. Even though she’s not a vocal powerhouse she was lacking the ‘ it’ factor to compensate for it. The first time I saw her live performance was at Madison Square Garden when she opened for Kanye’s Glow in the Dark tour. While she probably gave it her all, her stage presence was lacking and it felt very blah.I didn’t know who Rihanna was at that time, she seemed too packaged. Even with her reinvented image on  Good Girl Gone Bad,it came across disingenuous, like something her label contrived.  Her new bad gyal  persona just wasn’t believable to me. (Whoever her PR/management team was at the time did a great job if stiff and robotic was what they were going for. No shade.)

Somewhere between the Loud era and Talk that Talk, the girl changed! Or I should say my perception of RiRi changed thanks to Twitter. Twitter allowed her true personality to shine through. Riri is a girl after my own heart, I love love love the fact that she has zero f**cks to give and will read & shade any and everyone who tries to come for her, even her peers (yes I’m looking at you Ciara). What you see is what you get with Rihanna and she make no apologies for it.

I’m starting to believe that Rihanna could possibly be my generation’s Madonna ( yea I said it! I can see  some of you rolling your eyes lol). She’s one of the most versitile artists in the industry switching between reggae, electro and pop,not to mention her work ethic is unmatched! In 2011 the girl was on a world tour and simultaneously released a new album. It’s not like she’s putting out gah-barge either, Talk that Talk was a solid pop album. She knows how to satisfy RihannyNavy.

Rihanna’s launching her film career with a small role in Battleship. The film is being touted as Universal Pictures’ summer blockbuster.Comparing Rihanna from 5 years ago to present date she is a completely different person. She commands the stage and has grown into quite the artist.

Congrats dahlin!
